What's new from the HRCAccess to Medicines workshop Gareth Thomas (Parliamentary Under Secretary of State) and Richard Horton (Editor of The Lancet) are jointly hosting a two day workshop from 19-20 April, to promote constructive dialogue on the current challenges in Access to Medicines. Access the workshop page for further information, including the agenda and logistics information. Medicines Transparency Alliance (MeTA) stakeholder meeting MeTA will work through national and international partners to support national efforts to enhance transparency and build capacity in medicines policy, procurement and supply chain management. The Right Honourable Hilary Benn MP (UK Secretary of State for International Development) will host the first MeTA stakeholder meeting on 18th April 2007. The MeTA pages provide access to presentations, reports and tools relating to consultations already held, and the forthcoming stakeholder meeting. Universal access to sexual and reproductive health services A new key issues guide from the Health Resource Guide on eldis explores issues relating to universal access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services using a rights-based approach. It was produced in collaboration with the DFID Realising Rights Research Programme Consortia. View Cost-effective Delivery of Specialist Medical Services to the St. Helena Population - Review of Options - Draft Recommendations This new report reviews the health care context of St. Helena and suggests a number of methods of improving delivery, including: the use of telemedicine; making formal arrangements for travel and accomodation; and exploring government and health insurance. View DFID Human Development Retreat The Health Resource Centre is organising the DFID Human Development Retreat for DFID Health, HIV & AIDS and Education Advisors. The retreat ran from 6 - 9 February. Reproductive Health Commodity Security Case Studies Four new country case study reports on Uganda, Nigeria, Cambodia and Zambia are now available. These reports provide an analysis of the key factors that influence financing, procurement, forcasting and supply of reproductive commodities, including how national and international agents interface and co-ordinate their activities.
